SENATE BILL

No. 1359 Session of 2000

                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for the capital budget for the fiscal year 2000-2001.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4  Section 1.  Short title and construction.
     5     (a)  Short title.--This act shall be known and may be cited
     6  as the Capital Budget Act of 2000-2001.
     7     (b)  Supplements.--A reference to this act shall be deemed to
     8  include a reference to the supplements to this act.
     9     (c)  Capital Facilities Debt Enabling Act.--The provisions
    10  and definitions of Chapter 3 of the act of February 9, 1999
    11  (P.L.1, No.1), known as The Capital Facilities Debt Enabling
    12  Act, shall apply to this act to the extent they are not
    13  inconsistent with this act.
    14  Section 2.  Overall limitations on debt to be incurred for
    15                 capital projects.
    16     The maximum principal amount of additional debt to be
    17  incurred during the 2000-2001 fiscal year, and thereafter until

     1  the enactment of the 2001-2002 capital budget specifying the
     2  maximum debt for the 2001-2002 fiscal year, for capital projects
     3  specifically itemized in a capital budget pursuant to section
     4  7(a)(4) of Article VIII of the Constitution of Pennsylvania, and
     5  the fund to be charged with the repayment of such debt, shall,
     6  with respect to each category of capital projects, be as
     7  follows:

    22  Section 3.  Effective date.
    23     This act shall take effect July 1, 2000, or immediately,
    24  whichever is later.
