AN ACT 1 Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled, 2 as amended, "An act relating to counties of the third, 3 fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, 4 revising, consolidating and changing the laws relating 5 thereto; and providing for regional renaissance initiatives," 6 further providing for plant and animal disease. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 1938 of the act of August 9, 1955 10 (P.L.323, No.130), known as The County Code, is amended to read: 11 [Section 1938. Suppression of Animal and Plant Disease.--The 12 board of commissioners is hereby authorized to make 13 appropriations from county funds for the purpose of controlling 14 and suppressing dangerous infectious disease of livestock and 15 poultry and dangerous plant diseases and insect pests and 16 diseases to honeybees, in cooperation with the Department of 17 Agriculture of Pennsylvania. 18 For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this
1 section, the board of county commissioners may enter into 2 agreements with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture 3 concerning terms, rules, regulations and practices for 4 conducting the work.] 5 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately. B22L16BIL/19990H1814B2223 - 2 -
