                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for display of registration
     3     plate.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1332 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 1332.  Display of registration plate.
     9     (a)  General rule.--Every registration plate shall, at all
    10  times, be securely fastened to the vehicle to which it is
    11  assigned or on which its use is authorized in accordance with
    12  regulations promulgated by the department.
    13     (b)  Obscuring plate.--It is unlawful to display on any
    14  vehicle a registration plate which is so dirty as to prevent the
    15  reading of the number or letters thereon at a reasonable
    16  distance or is otherwise illegible at a reasonable distance or


     1  is obscured in any manner.
     2     (c)  Antique plates.--An antique motorcycle or motor vehicle
     3  or classic motorcycle or motor vehicle registered as such with
     4  the department may display on the front bumper a registration
     5  plate that was issued in the year of manufacture of the
     6  motorcycle or motor vehicle, regardless of whether that
     7  registration plate was originally issued to the motorcycle or
     8  motor vehicle on which it is displayed.
     9     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
