AN ACT
1 Authorizing and directing the Department of Military and
2 Veterans Affairs and the Department of General Services, with
3 the approval of the Governor, to grant and convey LAND AND <--
4 BUILDINGS SITUATE THEREON: to Joseph Pintola a tract of land <--
5 and building situate at 78 West Maiden Street, City of
6 Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania, known as the
7 Washington Armory, TO JOSEPH PINTOLA; A TRACT OF LAND SITUATE <--
8 IN THE BOROUGH OF NORRISTOWN, COUNTY OF MONTGOMERY,
9 PENNSYLVANIA; AND A TRACT OF LAND SITUATE IN HAMILTON
10 TOWNSHIP, FRANKLIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.
11 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
12 hereby enacts as follows:
13 Section 1. (A) The Department of Military and Veterans <--
14 Affairs and the Department of General Services, with the
15 approval of the Governor, are hereby authorized and directed on
16 behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to grant and convey
17 for consideration equal to the fair market value as determined
18 by an independent appraiser the tract of land bounded and
19 described as follows:
20 Beginning at a point in the southerly side of Maiden Street,
1 at line of land conveyed by the party of the first part hereto 2 to Laura A. Halpin, by deed recorded in the Recorder's Office of 3 Washington County in Deed Book Vol. 281, page 261; thence 4 southwardly along said lot of Laura A. Halpin, 240 feet, more or 5 less, to land of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company; thence 6 westwardly along lands of said Railroad Company, 70 feet, more 7 or less, to line of land now or late of Phillips heirs; thence 8 northwardly along said land of Phillips heirs, 240 feet, more or 9 less, to the southerly line of Maiden Street; and thence 10 eastwardly along the southerly side of Maiden Street, 70 feet, 11 more or less, to the place of beginning. 12 And being the same lot of land conveyed unto the Commonwealth 13 by Harriet S. Baird, by deed dated August 3, 1915, of record in 14 the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Washington County in Deed 15 Book Vol. 427, page 477. 16 Section 2. (B) The conveyance shall be made under and <-- 17 subject to all easements, servitudes and rights of others, 18 including, but not confined to, streets, roadways and rights of 19 telephone, telegraph, water, electric, sewer, gas or pipeline 20 companies, as well as under and subject to any interest, estates 21 or tenancies vested in third persons, whether or not appearing 22 of record, for any portion of the land or improvements erected 23 thereon. 24 Section 3. (C) The proceeds of this sale shall be paid into <-- 25 the State Treasury and deposited in the State Treasury Armory 26 Fund. 27 Section 4. (D) The deed of conveyance shall be approved as <-- 28 provided by law and shall be executed by the Secretary of 29 General Services in the name of the Commonwealth of 30 Pennsylvania. 19970S1218B2306 - 2 -

(E) In the event this property is not conveyed to <-- 2 Joseph Pintola within 12 months of the effective date of this 3 act, at the discretion of the Secretary of General Services, the 4 property shall be offered for sale through auction, sealed bid 5 or request for proposal, under terms and conditions in section 6 2405-A of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.177, No.175), known as 7 The Administrative Code of 1929, and this act authorizing the 8 sale of the herein noted property to Joseph Pintola shall expire 9 and become null and void. 10 Section 6. (F) Costs and fees incidental to this conveyance <-- 11 shall be borne by the Grantee. 12 SECTION 2. (A) THE DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AND VETERAN <-- 13 AFFAIRS AND THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES, WITH THE 14 APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR, ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED ON 15 BEHALF OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA TO GRANT AND CONVEY, 16 AT A PRICE TO BE DETERMINED THROUGH COMPETITIVE BIDDING, THE 17 FOLLOWING TRACT OF LAND TOGETHER WITH ANY BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES 18 OR IMPROVEMENTS THEREON, SITUATE IN THE BOROUGH OF NORRISTOWN, 19 MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, BOUNDED AND DESCRIBED AS 20 FOLLOWS: 21 ALL THAT CERTAIN TRACT OR PIECE OF LAND SITUATE IN THE 22 BOROUGH OF NORRISTOWN, COUNTY OF MONTGOMERY AND STATE OF 23 PENNSYLVANIA, BOUNDED AND DESCRIBED ACCORDING TO A PLAN MADE BY 24 S. CAMERON CORSON, BOROUGH ENGINEER, ON DECEMBER 7, 1926, AS 25 FOLLOWS, TO WIT: 26 BEGINNING AT A STAKE SET 86 AND SIX-TENTHS FEET SOUTHERLY 27 FROM THE INTERSECTION OF THE SOUTH HOUSE LINE OF JAMES STREET 28 WITH THE WESTERN HOUSE LINE OF THE HARDING BOULEVARD; THENCE 29 CONTINUING IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION ALONG THE SAID WESTERLY 30 HOUSE LINE OF THE HARDING BOULEVARD ON A CURVED LINE HAVING A 19970S1218B2306 - 3 -
1 RADIUS OF 1,450 FEET 100 FEET TO A STAKE WHICH IS THE END OF THE 2 CURVE; THENCE CONTINUING IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION ALONG SAID 3 WESTERN HOUSE LINE OF THE SAID BOULEVARD 100 FEET TO A STAKE OR 4 CORNER; THENCE AT A RIGHT ANGLE TO THE LAST LINE AND ALONG OTHER 5 LAND OF THE BOROUGH OF NORRISTOWN WESTERLY 120 FEET TO A STAKE 6 OR CORNER; THENCE AT A RIGHT ANGLE TO THE LAST LINE AND ALONG 7 OTHER LAND OF THE BOROUGH OF NORRISTOWN NORTHERLY 200 FEET TO A 8 STAKE OR CORNER, AND THENCE AT A RIGHT ANGLE TO THE LAST LINE 9 EASTERLY ALONG OTHER LAND OF THE BOROUGH OF NORRISTOWN 123 AND 10 TWENTY-SEVEN HUNDREDTHS FEET TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING. 11 (B) THE PROCEEDS OF THE SALE OF THE LAND AND ARMORY HEREIN 12 AUTHORIZED TO BE CONVEYED SHALL BE DEPOSITED IN THE STATE 13 TREASURY ARMORY FUND. 14 (C) THE CONVEYANCE SHALL BE MADE UNDER AND SUBJECT TO ALL 15 EASEMENTS, SERVITUDES AND RIGHTS OF OTHERS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT 16 CONFINED TO, STREETS, ROADWAYS AND RIGHTS OF ANY TELEPHONE, 17 TELEGRAPH, WATER, ELECTRIC, SEWER, GAS OR PIPELINE COMPANIES, AS 18 WELL AS UNDER AND SUBJECT TO ANY INTEREST, ESTATES OR TENANCIES 19 VESTED IN THIRD PERSONS, WHETHER OR NOT APPEARING OF RECORD, FOR 20 ANY PORTION OF THE LAND OR IMPROVEMENTS ERECTED THEREON. 21 SECTION 3. H. GLUCK; THENCE BY LAND OF W. H. GLUCK NORTH 83 5 1/2 DEGREES WEST 336.6 FEET TO AN IRON PIN AT THE CORNER OF 6 LANDS OF W. H.
