                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for aid payments to recipients of general assistance
     2     and aid to families with dependent children who have resided
     3     in this Commonwealth for less than 12 months.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6  Section 1.  Aid payment.
     7     Notwithstanding the maximum aid payments as determined by the
     8  Department of Public Welfare, recipients of general assistance
     9  and aid to families with dependent children who have resided in
    10  this Commonwealth for less than twelve months shall be paid an
    11  amount calculated in accordance with Department of Public
    12  Welfare standards, but not to exceed the maximum aid payment
    13  that would have been received from the recipient's state of
    14  prior residence, unless that amount exceeds the maximum payment

     1  level available to recipients in this Commonwealth. When the
     2  maximum aid payment from a recipient's state of prior residence
     3  exceeds that amount which would otherwise be available in this
     4  Commonwealth, the recipient shall receive an amount not to
     5  exceed the amount available in this Commonwealth.
     6  Section 2.  Effective date.
     7     This act shall take effect in 90 days.
