AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, prohibiting sale of
3 certain information by a witness.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 5919.1. Sale of information prohibited.
9 A person who has firsthand knowledge or direct information
10 concerning a criminal case and who is subject to being called to
11 testify at the trial may not sell this information to the news
12 media until all trials concerning the criminal case have been
13 completed.
14 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
