AN ACT
1 Making appropriations from a restricted revenue account within <--
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
4 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM A RESTRICTED REVENUE ACCOUNT WITHIN <--
5 THE GENERAL FUND TO THE OFFICE OF CONSUMER ADVOCATE IN THE
6 OFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be <--
10 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
11 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
12 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
13 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
14 year July 1, 1995, to June 30, 1996, for the purposes and in the
15 amounts shown:
16 Federal State
17 (1) For the salaries, wages
18 and all necessary expenses for the
1 proper operation and administration
2 of the Pennsylvania Public Utility
3 Commission, including the chairman
4 and commissioners and the Bureau of
5 Safety and Enforcement.
6 State appropriation........ $36,757,000
7 (i) The following Federal
8 augmentation amounts, or as
9 much thereof as may be
10 necessary, are specifically
11 appropriated to supplement the
12 sum authorized to be billed to
13 utilities for the operation of
14 the commission:
15 (A) "Natural Gas
16 Pipeline Safety" - To
17 enforce the regulations of
18 the Natural Gas Pipeline
19 Safety Act.
20 Federal appropriation...... 190,000
21 Any Federal funds which the
22 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
23 receives pursuant to these
24 appropriations shall not be credited
25 to any utility nor used to lower the
26 annual assessment of any utility.
27 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 1995, or
28 immediately, whichever is later.
29 SECTION 1. THE SUM OF $3,906,000 IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED FROM <--
30 THE RESTRICTED REVENUE ACCOUNT WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND TO THE

1 OFFICE OF CONSUMER ADVOCATE IN THE OFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL TO
2 PROVIDE FOR THE OPERATION OF THAT OFFICE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
3 JULY 1, 1996, TO JUNE 30, 1997.
4 SECTION 2. THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 1996, OR
5 IMMEDIATELY, WHICHEVER IS LATER.
