A RESOLUTION 1 Proclaiming the appreciation of the House of Representatives for 2 the many contributions from Pennsylvanians with disabilities. 3 WHEREAS, The act of May 26, 1988 (P.L.413, No.71), designates 4 January 30 of each year as the "Day of the Disabled," that day 5 being commonly referred to as "Pennsylvanians with Disabilities 6 Day," in honor of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's birthday; and 7 WHEREAS, Pennsylvanians with disabilities, through courage 8 and determination, have conquered seemingly insurmountable 9 obstacles to lead successful lives; and 10 WHEREAS, Pennsylvanians with disabilities demonstrate unique 11 character and perseverance in pursuing and attaining their 12 desired goals; and 13 WHEREAS, These individuals make noteworthy contributions to 14 their communities, this Commonwealth and the nation; and 15 WHEREAS, These individuals, who number over one million in
1 Pennsylvania, deserve special recognition from public officials 2 who represent their interests; therefore be it 3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives proclaim its 4 appreciation for the many contributions from Pennsylvanians with 5 disabilities who enrich our communities throughout this 6 Commonwealth.
