AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to The Medical College of Pennsylvania,
2 East Falls, Philadelphia.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The sum of $3,290,000 is hereby appropriated to
6 The Medical College of Pennsylvania located in East Falls,
7 Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1, 1994, to June 30,
8 1995, for instruction in the Doctor of Medicine program.
9 Section 2. The sum of $912,000 is hereby appropriated to The
10 Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, for the fiscal
11 year July 1, 1994, to June 30, 1995, for the general maintenance
12 of The Medical College of Pennsylvania, including the School of
13 Allied Health, and student aid.
14 Section 3. Payments to The Medical College of Pennsylvania
15 on account of the appropriations provided in sections 1 and 2
16 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the
17 basis of costs during the fiscal year.
1 Section 4. The Medical College of Pennsylvania shall provide
2 full, complete and accurate information as may be required by
3 the Department of Education or the chairman or the minority
4 chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the
5 chairman or the minority chairman of the Appropriations
6 Committee of the House of Representatives.
7 Section 5. The Medical College of Pennsylvania shall report
8 its revenues and expenditures and present its financial
9 statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting
10 principles and procedures for educational institutions as set
11 forth in the "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the
12 "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State
13 System of Higher Education, State-Related Universities and Non-
14 State-Related Colleges and Universities."
15 Section 6. The trustees of the Medical College of
16 Pennsylvania shall report on forms provided by the Department of
17 Education to both the chairman and minority chairman of the
18 Appropriations Committee of the Senate and the chairman and
19 minority chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the House
20 of Representatives by September 30, 1995, on how State-
21 appropriated funds were expended for fiscal year 1994-1995 to
22 reduce the costs to Pennsylvania resident students or to provide
23 services to Pennsylvania residents.
24 Section 7. This act shall take effect July 1, 1994, or
25 immediately, whichever is later.
