AN ACT
1 Amending the act of April 6, 1951 (P.L.69, No.20), entitled "An
2 act relating to the rights, obligations and liabilities of
3 landlord and tenant and of parties dealing with them and
4 amending, revising, changing and consolidating the law
5 relating thereto," further prohibiting termination and
6 nonrenewal of lease.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 205 of the act of April 6, 1951 (P.L.69,
10 No.20), known as The Landlord and Tenant Act of 1951, added
11 December 18, 1984 (P.L.1003, No.203), is amended to read:
12 Section 205. [Participation in Tenants' Association]
13 Prohibitions Against Termination and Nonrenewal of Lease.--No
14 individual unit lease on residential property shall be
15 terminated or nonrenewed on the basis of:
16 (1) the participation of any tenant or member of the
17 tenant's family in a tenants' organization or association;
18 (2) a complaint made by any tenant or member of the tenant's
19 family with respect to the leased premises, if the complaint was
1 justified.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
