AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for joint costs of certain traffic-
3 control devices; and providing for powers and duties of the
4 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 6122 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding subsections to read:
9 § 6122. Authority to erect traffic-control devices.

11 (e) Costs.--The cost of traffic-control signals located on
12 Pennsylvania intersections shall be borne jointly by the
13 municipality and the Commonwealth. As used in this subsection,
14 the term "cost of traffic-control signal" means the purchase
15 price of a traffic-control signal, the cost of erecting the
16 traffic-control signal and the cost of maintaining the traffic-
17 control signal.
18 (f) Powers and duties of Pennsylvania Public Utility
1 Commission.--Nothing contained in this section shall impair,
2 suspend, contract, enlarge, extend or affect in any manner the
3 powers and duties of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
4 as contained in 66 Pa.C.S. §§ 2702 (relating to construction,
5 relocation, suspension and abolition of crossings), 2703
6 (relating to ejectment in crossing cases) and 2704 (relating to
7 compensation for damages occasioned by construction, relocation
8 or abolition of crossings).
9 Section 2. This act shall apply to the maintenance costs of
10 traffic-control devices which are in existence on the effective
11 date of this act.
12 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
