                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 6, 1963 (P.L.521, No.277), entitled
     2     "An act providing that probation officers shall have the
     3     power of peace officers in the performance of their duties,"
     4     further providing for powers of probation officers.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Section 1 of the act of August 6, 1963 (P.L.521,
     8  No.277), entitled "An act providing that probation officers
     9  shall have the power of peace officers in the performance of
    10  their duties," is amended to read:
    11     Section 1.  Probation officers heretofore or hereafter
    12  appointed by any court of record of this Commonwealth are hereby
    13  declared to be peace officers, and shall have police powers and
    14  authority throughout the Commonwealth to arrest with or without
    15  warrant, writ, rule or process, any person on probation,
    16  intermediate punishment or parole under the supervision of said
    17  court for failing to report as required by the terms of his
    18  probation, intermediate punishment or parole or for any other


     1  violation of his probation, intermediate punishment or parole.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
