A RESOLUTION
1 Honoring the Erie Food Bank for receiving the Annual Second
2 Harvest Food Bank Award for Excellence.
3 WHEREAS, The Erie Food Bank received the Annual Second
4 Harvest Food Bank Award for Excellence; and
5 WHEREAS, This award pays tribute to those food banks that
6 have excelled in their mission to help feed the hungry and
7 eliminate the waste of food; and
8 WHEREAS, The Erie Food Bank is a member of the Annual Second
9 Harvest Food Bank Network which provides relief to the poor in
10 an effort to eliminate hunger and malnutrition; and
11 WHEREAS, This award is presented to a member food bank based
12 on the qualities of community service, operational excellence,
13 innovation and network cooperation; and
14 WHEREAS, The chairperson of the Second Harvest National Food
15 Bank Network praised the Erie Food Bank as "an example of what
16 can be accomplished when people believe in the mission of their
17 organization"; therefore be it
1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize and
2 salute the staff and volunteers of the Erie Food Bank on
3 receiving the Annual Second Harvest Food Bank Award for
4 Excellence; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage
6 communities across this Commonwealth to partake in acts of
7 compassion, generosity and service, as displayed by the Erie
8 Food Bank, in order to combat hunger and poverty; and be it
9 further
10 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
11 the Erie Food Bank.
