                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Urging the Health Care Cost Containment Council to study the
     2     feasibility of replacing school nurses with public health
     3     nurses.

     4     WHEREAS, Public school buildings are in the main conveniently
     5  located within the communities of this Commonwealth; and
     6     WHEREAS, Many citizens of this Commonwealth are in dire need
     7  of personal health services, including management of chronic
     8  diseases, communicable disease control, tuberculosis and
     9  venereal disease control and maternal and child health services;
    10  and
    11     WHEREAS, Replacement of school nurses by public health nurses
    12  operating from public school buildings would make personal
    13  health services more accessible to citizens who need these
    14  services; therefore be it
    15     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the Health
    16  Care Cost Containment Council to study the feasibility of
    17  replacing school nurses with public health nurses who would
    18  operate from public school buildings to provide personal health

     1  services and public health nursing services to members of the
     2  community.
