AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for the number of occupants of
3 vehicles in high occupancy lanes.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 3313 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 3313. Restrictions on use of limited access highways.
9 (a) General rule.--[The] Subject to the limitations of
10 subsection (c), the department may regulate or prohibit the use
11 of any limited access highway by any class or kind of traffic
12 which is found to be incompatible with the normal and safe
13 movement of traffic.
14 (b) Traffic-control devices at entrances.--The department,
15 when adopting any prohibition under this section, shall erect
16 and maintain official traffic-control devices at the entrances
17 to the limited access highway on which the prohibitions are
18 applicable and when in place no person shall disobey the
1 restrictions stated on the devices.
2 (c) High occupancy vehicle lane restrictions.--Any high
3 occupancy vehicle lane restrictions prescribed for Interstate
4 279 in counties of the second class shall provide that vehicles
5 with a driver and one other occupant may use the restricted lane
6 for travel.
7 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
