AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Trustees of the Berean Training and
2 Industrial School at Philadelphia.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $819,000 $1,092,000 is hereby <--
6 appropriated to the Trustees of the Berean Training and
7 Industrial School at Philadelphia for the fiscal year July 1,
8 1991, to June 30, 1992, for operation and maintenance of the
9 school. The final payment totaling no less than 25% of this <--
10 appropriation is contingent on the Secretary of Education
11 certifying to the General Assembly that the Berean Training and
12 Industrial School has fully cooperated in the Department of
13 Education's efforts to fulfill the requirements of the higher
14 education accountability appropriation to the Department of
15 Education.
16 (b) The sum of $77,000 $102,000 is hereby appropriated to <--
17 the Trustees of the Berean Training and Industrial School for
1 the fiscal year July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992, for payment of
2 debt services to the Commonwealth.
3 Section 2. Payments to the Berean Training and Industrial
4 School on account of the appropriation in section 1(a) shall be
5 made by the Secretary of Education in equal quarterly payments.
6 Section 3. The Berean Training and Industrial School shall
7 provide full, complete and accurate information as may be
8 required by the Department of Education or the Majority Chairman
9 or the Minority Chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the
10 Senate or the Majority Chairman or the Minority Chairman of the
11 Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives.
12 Section 4. This act shall take effect July 1, 1991, or
13 immediately, whichever is later.
