                                     AN ACT

     1  Making appropriations to the Trustees of the Berean Training and
     2     Industrial School at Philadelphia.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  (a)  The sum of $819,000 is hereby appropriated
     6  to the Trustees of the Berean Training and Industrial School at
     7  Philadelphia for the fiscal year July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992,
     8  for operation and maintenance of the school. The final payment
     9  totaling no less than 25% of this appropriation is contingent on
    10  the Secretary of Education certifying to the General Assembly
    11  that the Berean Training and Industrial School has fully
    12  cooperated in the Department of Education's efforts to fulfill
    13  the requirements of the higher education accountability
    14  appropriation to the Department of Education.
    15     (b)  The sum of $77,000 is hereby appropriated to the
    16  Trustees of the Berean Training and Industrial School for the
    17  fiscal year July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992, for payment of debt


     1  services to the Commonwealth.
     2     Section 2.  Payments to the Berean Training and Industrial
     3  School on account of the appropriation in section 1(a) shall be
     4  made by the Secretary of Education in equal quarterly payments.
     5     Section 3.  The Berean Training and Industrial School shall
     6  provide full, complete and accurate information as may be
     7  required by the Department of Education or the Majority Chairman
     8  or the Minority Chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the
     9  Senate or the Majority Chairman or the Minority Chairman of the
    10  Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives.
    11     Section 4.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1991, or
    12  immediately, whichever is later.
