AN ACT
1 Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for a lottery prize
3 intercept in relation to delinquent support obligors.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 4308. Lottery prize intercept.
9 (a) Duty of Department of Revenue.--In the case of any
10 person winning $2,500 or more in the State lottery, the
11 Department of Revenue shall make all reasonable efforts to
12 determine if the winner is a delinquent support obligor, prior
13 to making payment of the prize. If the winner is so found to be
14 a delinquent support obligor, the amount of any arrearages shall
15 be deducted from the amount of the prize and paid to the obligee
16 in the manner provided in this title for the administration of
1 support payments.
2 (b) Rules and regulations.--The Department of Revenue shall,
3 in the manner provided by law, promulgate the rules and
4 regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of this
5 section.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
