AN ACT
1 Limiting the number of hours medical students and residents may
2 be required to work.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Limitation on hours.
6 No health facility in this Commonwealth that provides medical
7 training shall require students or residents to work more than
8 16 hours in any given day. In addition, night duty shall not be
9 more frequent then every fifth night.
10 Section 2. Effective date.
11 This act shall take effect immediately.
