                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 71 (State Government) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, including enforcement officers and
     3     investigators in the Office of Attorney General within the
     4     definition of "enforcement officer" for retirement purposes.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  The definition of "enforcement officer" in
     8  section 5102 of Title 71 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     9  Statutes is amended to read:
    10  § 5102.  Definitions.
    11     The following words and phrases as used in this part, unless
    12  a different meaning is plainly required by the context, shall
    13  have the following meanings:

    15     "Enforcement officer."
    16         (1)  Any enforcement officer or investigator of the
    17     Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board who is a peace officer
    18     vested with police power and authority throughout the


     1     Commonwealth and any administrative or supervisory employee
     2     of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board vested with police
     3     power who is charged with the administration or enforcement
     4     of the liquor laws of the Commonwealth.
     5         (2)  Any enforcement officer or investigator of the
     6     Office of Attorney General who is a peace officer vested with
     7     police power and authority throughout this Commonwealth and
     8     any administrative or supervisory employee of the Office of
     9     Attorney General vested with police power who is charged with
    10     the administration or enforcement of the criminal laws of
    11     this Commonwealth.

    13     Section 2.  Any employee of the Office of Attorney General
    14  who comes within the definition of "enforcement officer" under
    15  the provisions of this amendatory act shall receive credited
    16  service as an enforcement officer for previous service in
    17  another agency of State government in which he performed
    18  services now performed by the Office of Attorney General and for
    19  service in the Office of Attorney General prior to the effective
    20  date of this amendatory act.
    21     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
