                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     jurisdiction over offenses committed in moving vehicles.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 8703.  Offenses committed in moving vehicles.
     9     (a)  General rule.--For any indictable offense committed in a
    10  moving vehicle, it is sufficient to allege, in any indictment or
    11  information, that the offense was committed within any county
    12  through which the vehicle passed in the course of the journey
    13  during which the offense was committed.
    14     (b)  Exception.--This section does not apply where the
    15  precise location of the offense can be determined.
    16     (c)  Definition.--As used in this section, the term "vehicle"
    17  means any land or water conveyance.
    18     Section 2.  This act shall apply to offenses committed on or

     1  after the effective date of this act.
     2     Section 3.  This act shall take effect immediately.
