AN ACT 1 Making appropriations to the Thomas Jefferson University, 2 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $5,495,000 is hereby appropriated 6 to the Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 7 for the fiscal year July 1, 1987, to June 30, 1988, for 8 instruction in the Doctor of Medicine program. 9 (b) The sum of $2,303,000 $3,913,000 is hereby appropriated <-- 10 to the Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 11 for the fiscal year July 1, 1987, to June 30, 1988, for the 12 general maintenance of the Thomas Jefferson University, 13 including the College of Allied Health Sciences, and student <-- 14 aid, AND CHILDREN'S HEART HOSPITAL. <-- 15 (c) The sum of $1,610,000 is hereby appropriated to Thomas <-- 16 Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the
1 Children's Heart Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the 2 fiscal year July 1, 1987, to June 30, 1988. 3 Section 2. (a) Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University <-- 4 on account of the appropriations provided in section 1(a) and 5 (b) shall be made quarterly by the Secretary of Education on the 6 basis of costs during the fiscal year. 7 (b) Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University on account <-- 8 of the appropriation in section 1(c) shall be made in accordance 9 with procedures developed by the Secretary of Health, and made 10 in equal quarterly payments. 11 Section 3. The Thomas Jefferson University shall provide 12 such information as may be necessary to carry out the provisions 13 of this act and in such form and manner as the Departments of 14 Education and Health shall prescribe. 15 Section 4. The Thomas Jefferson University shall report its 16 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements 17 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and 18 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the 19 "Higher Education Finance Manual (1975)" and the "Commonwealth 20 of Pennsylvania Budget Instructions for the State System of 21 Higher Education, State Related Universities and Non State 22 Related Colleges and Universities." 23 Section 5.
