                                     AN ACT

     1  Requiring applicants for law enforcement positions to submit to
     2     investigative screening prior to employment.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Applications for law enforcement employment.
     6     A person making application to a political subdivision for
     7  employment as a police officer shall, as a condition of
     8  employment, execute an agreement authorizing investigative
     9  access by the employer to all data and information, private or
    10  public, which may be pertinent to the performance of the duties
    11  of a police officer. Such agreement shall release and hold
    12  harmless the municipality for infringement or violation of
    13  privacy rights of the authorizing party.
    14  Section 2.  Effective date.
    15     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
