A RESOLUTION
1 Establishing a Special Sub-committee on the Lottery.
2 WHEREAS, The Lottery is a multimillion dollar business in
3 this Commonwealth; and
4 WHEREAS, Lottery-funded programs have proliferated due to the
5 success of the Lottery; therefore be it
6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives direct the
7 Chairman of the Finance Committee to appoint a Special Sub-
8 committee on the Lottery from the members of the committee, four
9 members from the majority party and three members from the
10 minority party. The sub-committee shall have the power to study
11 and consider changes in the Lottery, including, but not limited
12 to, proposals to improve and expand the Lottery. The sub-
13 committee shall recommend pertinent legislation on matters it
14 inquires into; and be it further
15 RESOLVED, That the Special Sub-committee on the Lottery may
16 exercise the powers permitted to be exercised by standing sub-
17 committees by the Rules of the House.
