AN ACT
1 Requiring certain supermarkets to provide rest rooms to the
2 public; and providing a penalty.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Rest rooms required.
6 Every supermarket as defined in section 2 shall have rest
7 rooms available for public use.
8 Section 2. Definition.
9 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
10 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
11 context clearly indicates otherwise:
12 "Supermarket." Any store, market or other facility that
13 sells groceries at retail and has 15 or more employees.
14 Section 3. Penalty.
15 Any owner of a supermarket who violates this act commits a
16 summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay
17 a fine of not less the $250 nor more than $500.
1 Section 4. Effective date.
2 This act shall take effect in 60 days.
