AN ACT
1 Providing for the submission to the electors of this
2 Commonwealth of a referendum relating to the conducting of
3 tournaments and contests with cash prizes or other prizes in
4 or adjacent to premises licensed by the Pennsylvania Liquor
5 Control Board.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Referendum.
9 The Secretary of the Commonwealth shall cause to be placed on
10 the ballot at the next primary election a referendum for
11 consideration by the electors.
12 Section 2. Form of question.
13 The question on the ballot shall be phrased in substantially
14 the following form:
15 Do you favor permitting dart, billiard, bowling,
16 shuffleboard, rings or card tournaments or contests with
17 cash prizes or other prizes in or adjacent to premises
18 licensed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board?
19 Section 3. Conduct of election.
1 The election shall be held in accordance with the act of June
2 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the Pennsylvania Election
3 Code, except that the time limits for advertisement of notice of
4 the election may be waived as to the question.
5 Section 4. Tabulation of results.
6 The results of the election shall be tabulated in the manner
7 provided by law and the Secretary of the Commonwealth shall
8 certify the results to the General Assembly.
9 Section 5. Effective date.
10 This act shall take effect immediately.
