                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), entitled
     2     "An act concerning game and other wild birds and wild
     3     animals; and amending, revising, consolidating, and changing
     4     the law relating thereto," increasing certain fees and
     5     creating the Casualty Benefits Fund.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  The act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), known
     9  as The Game Law, is amended by adding a section to read:
    10     Section 320.1.  Casualty Benefits Fund.--(a)  There is
    11  established in the State Treasury a special fund to be known as
    12  the Casualty Benefits Fund. This fund shall be administered by
    13  the commission.
    14     (b)  A one dollar ($1) fee is to be charged and added to each
    15  license issued by the commission. The additional fee of one
    16  dollar ($1) per license shall be placed in the Casualty Benefits
    17  Fund.
    18     (c)  The commission shall pay the sum of five thousand
    19  dollars ($5,000) in death benefits to the estate of any person

     1  who was killed as a result of a hunting accident.
     2     (d)  The commission shall also pay up to the sum of five
     3  thousand dollars ($5,000) to any person who was seriously
     4  injured in a hunting accident. The amount of compensation shall
     5  be equal to the cost of all medical bills and lost wages
     6  suffered by the individual as a result of the hunting accident.
     7     (e)  The maximum amount of compensation a person or his
     8  estate may receive from the fund as a result of a single hunting
     9  accident is ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
    10     Section 2.  This act shall be retroactive to January 1, 1983.
    11     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
