AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for six
3 additional judges in the fifth judicial district.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 911 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 911. Courts of common pleas.
9 (a) General rule.--There shall be one court of common pleas
10 for each judicial district of this Commonwealth consisting of
11 the following number of judges:

26 (b) Single county districts.--In single county judicial
27 districts the court of common pleas of the district shall be
28 known as the "Court of Common Pleas of (the respective) County."
29 (c) Multicounty districts.--In multicounty judicial
30 districts the court of common pleas of the district shall be

1 known as the "Court of Common Pleas of the (respective) Judicial
2 District." There shall be a separate branch of the court in each
3 county comprising the judicial district.
4 Section 2. The vacancy created by the new judgeships added
5 by section 1 of this act shall be filled pursuant to 42 Pa.C.S.
6 § 3135 (relating to increase in number of judges).
7 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
