AN ACT
1 Amending the act of August 31, 1971 (P.L.398, No.96), entitled
2 "An act providing for the creation, maintenance and operation
3 of a county employes' retirement system, and imposing certain
4 charges on counties and providing penalties," authorizing the
5 withdrawal of accumulated deductions and interest.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The act of August 31, 1971 (P.L.398, No.96),
9 known as the County Pension Law, is amended by adding a section
10 to read:
11 Section 15.1. Option to Withdraw Accumulated Deductions and
12 Accumulated Interest.--Any member of the county retirement
13 system who retires or otherwise ceases to be either a county
14 employe or an elected county official may elect to withdraw the
15 accumulated deductions and accumulated interest thereon standing
16 to his credit in the members' annuity reserve account. Any
17 member who makes such an election shall forfeit the member's
18 annuity portion of his retirement allowance but shall continue
19 to be entitled to the county annuity portion upon retirement if
1 he is otherwise so entitled.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 1985.
