                     Report of the Committee of Conference

        To the Members of the House of Representatives and Senate:

           We, the undersigned, Committee of Conference on the part of
        the House of Representatives and Senate for the purpose of
        considering House Bill No. 2082, entitled:
        "An act making an appropriation to the Trustees of the
        University of Pennsylvania for the general maintenance and
        operation of the University of Pennsylvania Museum and Morris
        Arboretum,"


        respectfully submit the following bill as our report:

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Trustees of the University of
     2     Pennsylvania for the general maintenance and operation of the
     3     University of Pennsylvania Museum and Morris Arboretum.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The sum of $159,000 is hereby appropriated to the
     7  Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, for the fiscal year
     8  July 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985 for the general maintenance of the
     9  University of Pennsylvania Museum and the purchase of such
    10  apparatus and equipment as the trustees may deem necessary for
    11  the best interest of the University of Pennsylvania Museum.
    12     Section 2.  The sum of $200,000 is hereby appropriated to the
    13  Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania for the fiscal year
    14  July 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985, for general maintenance and
    15  operation of the Morris Arboretum of the University of
    16  Pennsylvania.
    17     Section 3.  Payments to the University of Pennsylvania Museum
    18  on account of the appropriation provided in section 1 shall be
    19  made quarterly by the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania
    20  Historical and Museum Commission.
    21     Section 4.  Payments to the Morris Arboretum of the
    22  University of Pennsylvania on account of the appropriation
    23  provided in section 2 shall be made quarterly by the Secretary
    24  of Environmental Resources.
    25     Section 5.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1984 or, if
    26  enacted subsequent to that date, then immediately.
