AN ACT
1 Making appropriations from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Public Utility Commission.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
8 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
9 augmentation funds to the Public Utility Commission to provide
10 for the operation of the commission for the fiscal period July
11 1, 1984 to June 30, 1985 for the purposes and in the amounts
12 shown:
13 Federal State
14 (1) For the salaries, wages
15 and all necessary expenses for the
16 proper operation and administration
17 of the Public Utility Commission.
18 State appropriation........ $22,504,000
1 (i) The following Federal
2 augmentation amounts, or as
3 much thereof as may be
4 necessary, are specifically
5 appropriated to supplement the
6 sum authorized to be billed to
7 utilities for the operation of
8 the commission:
9 (A) "Natural Gas
10 Pipeline Safety" - To
11 enforce the regulations of
12 the Natural Gas Pipeline
13 Safety Act.
14 Federal appropriation...... 140,000
15 (B) "Railroad Safety"
16 - For safety inspectors to
17 survey and patrol over
18 14,000 miles of trackage to
19 eliminate derailment and
20 provide safe rail travel.
21 Federal appropriation...... 149,000
22 Any Federal funds which the Public
23 Utility Commission receives pursuant
24 to these appropriations shall not be
25 credited to any utility nor used to
26 lower the annual assessment of any
27 utility.
28 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
