                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103, No.69), entitled "An
     2     act concerning townships of the second class; and amending,
     3     revising, consolidating, and changing the law relating
     4     thereto," further providing for records.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Section 513.1 of the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.103,
     8  No.69), known as The Second Class Township Code, reenacted and
     9  amended July 10, 1947 (P.L.1481, No.567) and amended July 1,
    10  1968 (P.L.287, No.141), is amended to read:
    11     Section 513.1.  Typewritten, Printed, Photostated and
    12  Microfilmed Records, Valid Recording or Transcribing Records.--
    13  All townships records required to be recorded or transcribed
    14  shall be deemed valid if typewritten, printed, photostated or
    15  microfilmed, and where recording in a specified book of record
    16  is required [except] including minutes of the proceedings of the
    17  board of supervisors such records may be recorded or transcribed
    18  in a mechanical [or key-operated] post binder book with


     1  consecutively numbered pages with the township seal being
     2  impressed upon each page, or bound book with pages being
     3  consecutively numbered by transcribing directly upon the pages
     4  of such book of record, or may be attached to such book of
     5  record by stapling or by glue, or any other adhesive substance
     6  or material, and all records heretofore recorded or transcribed
     7  in any manner authorized by this section are validated. [The
     8  minutes of proceedings of the board of supervisors shall, in the
     9  manner prescribed by this section for other records, be recorded
    10  in a bound book.] When any record shall be recorded or
    11  transcribed after the effective date of this amendment by
    12  attaching such record or a copy thereof to the book of record as
    13  hereinabove provided, the township seal shall be impressed upon
    14  each page to which such record is attached, each impression
    15  thereof covering both a portion of the attached record and a
    16  portion of the page of the book of record to which such record
    17  is attached.
    18     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
