AN ACT
1 Relating to the resignation and reappointment of public
2 officers.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Any public officer within the meaning of such
6 term as used in Article III, section 27, of the Constitution of
7 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who resigns from office shall
8 be ineligible for reappointment to that office during the
9 remainder of the term for which he was initially appointed if <--
10 such reappointment would increase his salary or emoluments.
11 However, nothing contained in this act shall prevent such an
12 officer from being reappointed to the same office from which he
13 resigned if such reappointment does not result in a higher
14 salary obtaining than such person received at the date of his
15 resignation.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
