AN ACT
1 Prohibiting municipalities from imposing certain residency
2 requirements on police officers.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. No municipality shall impose any requirement
6 that a police officer shall reside within the municipality
7 as a condition for appointment or continued employment.
8 Section 2. Nothing in this act shall prevent a
9 municipality from requiring its police officers to reside
10 within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
11 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
