AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for the photograph of the
3 licensee.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1510(a) of Title 75, act of November 25,
7 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes, is amended to read:
9 § 1510. Issuance and content of driver's license.
10 (a) General rule.--The department shall, upon payment of the
11 required fee, issue to every qualified applicant a driver's
12 license indicating the type or general class of vehicles the
13 licensee is authorized to drive, which license shall contain a
14 distinguishing number identifying the licensee, the actual name,
15 date of birth, residence address, a color photograph of the
16 licensee, which photograph shall be a dark image on a light
17 background, such other information as may be required by the
18 department, and either a facsimile of the signature of the
1 licensee or a space upon which the licensee shall write his
2 usual signature with pen and ink. Personal medical data and
3 other information for use in an emergency may be included as a
4 part of the license. Information other than that required to
5 identify the licensee, the distinguishing number and the class
6 of license issued may be included in microdata form. No driver's
7 license shall be valid until it has been signed by the licensee.
