AN ACT
1 Declaring and adopting the song "Pennsylvania" by Valerie
2 Gallagher as the State Song of the Commonwealth of
3 Pennsylvania.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The song "Pennsylvania" by Valerie Gallagher is
7 hereby adopted as the State Song of Pennsylvania and shall be
8 the official song for all public purposes. The words of the song
9 are as follows:
10 PENNSYLVANIA
11 1st Verse:
12 Pennsylvania with your spirit flowing free,
13 I can hear the rivers,
14 I can almost still the breeze;
15 Penns woods are full of beauty
16 What a sight to see,
17 The sweet Mt. Laurel blowing with the trees;
18 The white tailed deer running so free
1 and high above all stands the hemlock trees.
2 Chorus:
3 Pennsylvania, a reason to be proud;
4 Pennsylvania, where freedom can be found.
5 Pennsylvania, the key to every state;
6 Pennsylvania, you're really lookin great!
7 All around there's independence, virtue,
8 and liberty.
9 2nd Verse:
10 Pittsburgh, Pa.,
11 the gate way to the west.
12 And in the city of Brotherly Love
13 the Liberty Bell's at rest.
14 The Battle of Gettysburg,
15 turning point in the war,
16 Where General Meade led us
17 to victory.
18 William Penn's light of colonial democracy
19 showed the light and forever we'll be free.
20 Chorus:
21 Pennsylvania , a reason to be proud;
22 Pennsylvania, where freedom can be found.
23 Pennsylvania, the key to every state;
24 Pennsylvania, you're really lookin great!

27 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
