                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled, "An
     2     act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
     3     welfare laws of the Commonwealth," limiting the exclusion of
     4     students from the employables program.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Clause (1) of subsection (a) of section 405.1,
     8  act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known as the "Public
     9  Welfare Code", added July 15, 1976 (P.L.993, No.202), is amended
    10  to read:
    11     Section 405.1.  Pennsylvania Employables Program.--(a)  Every
    12  individual, within ten days after establishing eligibility for
    13  public assistance, as a condition of continuing eligibility for
    14  aid to families with dependent children or general assistance,
    15  shall register in accordance with regulations of the department
    16  for employment, training and manpower services, unless such
    17  individual is:
    18     (1)  in the case of aid to families with dependent children,

     1  a child who is attending school or college or an approved
     2  program of vocational training on a full-time basis or who is
     3  under the age of sixteen;

     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
