HOUSE RESOLUTION

           E. H. SMITH, VROON, BRANDT AND YAHNER, JUNE 15, 1977

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, JUNE 16, 1977

                          In the House of Representatives, June 15, 1977

     1     WHEREAS, Certain plans such as the Environmental Master Plan,
     2  State Water Plan, Comprehensive Investment Plan, Comprehensive
     3  Water Quality Plan, Land Use Plan, Coastal Zone Management Plan
     4  and others are to be implemented by various State and regional
     5  agencies and departments; and
     6     WHEREAS, American agriculture is the most efficient and most
     7  productive in the world; and
     8     WHEREAS, In light of the increasing demand and need for food
     9  by the growing population, it is imperative that we have some
    10  commitment towards major food production and a guarantee of the
    11  best planning for the future; and
    12     WHEREAS, Top priority should be given to the production of an
    13  adequate and nutritious food supply for Pennsylvania and United
    14  States population and the maintaining of a strong production
    15  level especially in case of a drought; therefore be it
    16     RESOLVED, That the members of the House of Representatives
    17  recommend to the Governor that he encourage the agencies and


     1  departments involved in the various plans to give top priority
     2  to preserving and encouraging agricultural production; and be it
     3  further
     4     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
     5  the Honorable Milton J. Shapp, Governor of Pennsylvania, for
     6  distribution to the various agencies and departments involved.
