HOUSE RESOLUTION

        INTRODUCED BY LAUDADIO, MANDERINO, DeMEDIO, PETRARCA, KOLTER,
           RAPPAPORT, GILLETTE, WARGO, DOMBROWSKI, MUSTO, BARBER,
           WILSON AND JOHNSON, MARCH 1, 1977

                          In the House of Representatives, March 1, 1977

     1     WHEREAS, The natural gas supply of the country is adequate as
     2  indicated by statements appearing in the media, attributed to
     3  the gas and oil executives of this Nation; and
     4     WHEREAS, Allegations by responsible members of the United
     5  States Congress indicate that gas supplies were and are
     6  deliberately being withheld as a means to increase prices during
     7  a National crisis (emergency), at the expense and risk of life
     8  and health to the citizens of America; and
     9     WHEREAS, It has been reported through the media that various
    10  executives in the natural gas industry have publicly stated that
    11  the gas industry in withholding gas supplies in the face of a
    12  National crisis; and
    13     WHEREAS, We believe the time has come to put a halt to these
    14  alleged blackmail tactics; therefore be it
    15     RESOLVED, That the Pennsylvania General Assembly memorialize
    16  the Congress of the United States to make a swift determination
    17  of the above mentioned allegations and admissions; and be it

     2     RESOLVED, That if the above allegations are proved to be true
     3  and accurate, that the United States Congress take immediate
     4  steps to nationalize all drilling and transmission of natural
     5  gas on Federal property.
