AN ACT 1 Amending the act of November 20, 1968 (P.L.1075, No.329), 2 entitled "An act providing for the growth and development of 3 noncommercial educational television; creating the 4 Pennsylvania Public Television Network Commission as an 5 independent commission and defining its powers and duties," 6 further providing for contracts. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 4, act of November 20, 1968 (P.L.1075, 10 No.329), entitled "An act providing for the growth and 11 development of noncommercial educational television; creating 12 the Pennsylvania Public Television Network Commission as an 13 independent commission and defining its powers and duties," is 14 amended to read: 15 Section 4. Contracts.--All contracts or purchases made by 16 the commission involving the expenditure of over [one thousand 17 five hundred dollars ($1,500)] two thousand five hundred dollars 18 ($2,500), except those involving personal services or items that 19 can only be obtained from one source, shall be in writing,
1 awarded on the basis of competitive bidding and shall be made 2 only after notice of the proposed contract or purchase is 3 published in at least twelve newspapers, as the commission shall 4 determine will be sufficient to ensure distribution of the 5 notice throughout the Commonwealth, at least twenty days before 6 the letting of the contract or purchase. 7 Every contract for the construction, reconstruction, repair, <-- 8 improvement or maintenance of public works shall contain a 9 provision that any steel products used or supplied in the 10 performance of the contract or any subcontracts thereunder shall 11 be from steel made in the United States. 12 Section 2. The provisions of this act shall be construed in 13 a manner consistent with the act of March 3, 1978 (No.3), known 14 as the "Steel Products Procurement Act." 15 EVERY CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION, <-- 16 ALTERATION, REPAIR, IMPROVEMENT OR MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC WORKS 17 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE ACT OF MARCH 3, 1978 18 (NO.3), KNOWN AS THE "STEEL PRODUCTS PROCUREMENT ACT." 19 Section 3. 2.
