                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," changing the method for computing
     6     reimbursements for vocational extension classes and pre-
     7     employment training.

     8     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     9  hereby enacts as follows:
    10     Section 1.  Section 2507, act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30,
    11  No.14), known as the "Public School Code of 1949," amended
    12  August 14, 1963 (P.L.1121, No.477), is amended to read:
    13     Section 2507.  Payments on Account of Approved Vocational
    14  Extension Classes and Pre-employment Training.--Every school
    15  district and every vocational school district, regardless of
    16  classification, shall be paid by the Commonwealth for every
    17  school year, on account of approved vocational extension classes
    18  and pre-employment training, eighty per cent (80%) of the sum
    19  which was expended by the district for the compensation of
    20  vocational extension and pre-employment training teachers and


     1  supervisors. For the purpose of computing reimbursement, the
     2  maximum compensation shall be [four dollars ($4.00)] the salary
     3  paid but not to exceed eight dollars ($8.00) per hour and the
     4  amount [expended] of reimbursement for supervisory salaries
     5  shall not exceed twenty per cent (20%) of the [sum expended]
     6  reimbursement for teachers' salaries: Provided, That in special
     7  cases when travel time or unusual preparation of instructional
     8  materials or other factors result in an inadequate compensation,
     9  the Department of [Public Instruction] Education may approve
    10  additional reimbursable employment time for such additional
    11  services upon the submission of adequate substantiative evidence
    12  from the responsible superintendent of schools.
    13     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1977.
