                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, providing for the retention of certain receipts
     3     relative to snowmobile registration.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 7706 of Title 75, act of November 25,
     7  1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes, added June 17, 1976 (No.81), is amended to read:
     9  § 7706.  Restricted receipts fund.
    10     (a)  Deposit and use of moneys.--The department shall deposit
    11  all moneys received from the registration of snowmobiles, the
    12  sale of snowmobile registration information, snowmobile
    13  publications and other services provided by the department, all
    14  fines and penalties resulting from violations of this chapter,
    15  and all fees collected under this chapter in a restricted
    16  receipts fund, from which the department shall draw moneys for
    17  use in carrying out the registration, safety education and
    18  enforcement requirements of this chapter as well as the


     1  establishment, construction and maintenance of trails and any
     2  equipment and supplies necessary to carry out the purposes of
     3  this chapter. All moneys in said fund not heretofore paid into
     4  the General Fund shall remain in said restricted receipts fund
     5  to be used as specified in said act.
     6     [(b)  Audit and lapse of moneys.--The restricted receipts
     7  fund shall be audited every two years with any residue appearing
     8  in the fund at the end of each auditing period to be deposited
     9  in the General Fund.]
    10     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately or July 1,
    11  1977, whichever is later.
