AN ACT
1 Regulating the contractual powers of individuals serving in
2 local political subdivision positions.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Any individual who holds an appointive office in
6 a political subdivision of this Commonwealth shall not have an
7 interest, in any contract or construction in which the political
8 subdivision, shall enter or have an interest.
9 Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
10 barred for a period of five years from engaging in any business
11 or contract with any political subdivision of this Commonwealth.
12 For purposes of this section the term "interest" shall not
13 include the ownership of shares of stock in any corporation in
14 an amount of 5% or less of the total issue for said corporation.
15 Section 2. This act shall take effect in six months.
