AN ACT
1 Providing for the acceptance by the Governor of jurisdiction
2 relinquished by the United States to the Commonwealth over
3 lands within the Commonwealth's boundaries.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. General provisions.
7 The consent of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hereby
8 given to the retrocession of partial jurisdiction by the United
9 States over land within the boundaries of the Commonwealth. The
10 Governor is hereby authorized to accept for the Commonwealth
11 such retrocession to concurrent jurisdiction.
12 Section 2. Procedure.
13 Retrocession of jurisdiction shall be effected upon the
14 completion of the following procedure:
15 (1) Written notice shall be filed with the Governor by
16 the Administrator of Veterans Affairs pursuant to 38 U.S.C. §
17 5007.
18 (2) The Governor shall give public notice of
1 retrocession of jurisdiction by publication in the
2 Pennsylvania Bulletin.
3 (3) Written acceptance shall not be made less than 30
4 days after public notice of retrocession.
5 Section 3. Repeals.
6 All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with any retrocession
7 of jurisdiction effectuated in accordance with the provisions of
8 this act are hereby repealed.
9 Section 4. Effective date.
10 This act shall take effect immediately.
