        SENATOR CIANFRANI, APPROPRIATIONS, AS AMENDED, JUNE 30, 1975

                                     AN ACT

     1  Making an appropriation to the Trustees of the University of
     2     Pittsburgh for the general maintenance and operation of the
     3     Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  The sum of $3,500,000 $4,000,000, or as much       <--
     7  thereof as may be necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated
     8  to the Trustees of the University of Pittsburgh for the fiscal
     9  period July 1, 1975 to June 30, 1976, for the general
    10  maintenance and operation of the Western Psychiatric Institute
    11  and Clinic by the University of Pittsburgh and the purchase of
    12  such apparatus and equipment as the trustees may deem necessary
    13  for the best interest of the purposes of the institute and
    14  clinic, which purposes shall include the teaching of personnel
    15  for the staffs of the various mental institutions of the
    16  Commonwealth and the conduct of research in the treatment,
    17  prevention and cause of the various types of nervous disorders
    18  and mental diseases in compliance with the laws, providing for
    19  the lease of the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic to the

     1  University of Pittsburgh. In addition to the above amount all
     2  income and all moneys collected at the institute and paid into
     3  the General Fund of the State Treasury under existing laws are
     4  hereby appropriated out of the General Fund to the institute for
     5  the same purposes, the institute to receive from such
     6  appropriation the exact amount which was collected at said
     7  institute during the said fiscal period.
     8     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1975.
