AN ACT 1 Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled 2 "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth, 3 sixth, seventh and eight classes; amending, revising, 4 consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto," 5 providing for annual assessments for district attorneys' 6 associations. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 445, act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, 10 No.130), known as "The County Code," is amended by adding a 11 subsection to read: 12 Section 445. Annual Assessments for County Commissioners, 13 Etc.--* * * 14 (a.1) In addition to the expenses hereinbefore authorized, 15 the necessary expenses of the association of district attorneys 16 shall be apportioned among the counties holding membership in 17 the association in amounts provided for by the rules and 18 regulations of the association but shall not total more than: 19 (1) Three hundred dollars ($300) for any county of the third 20 class;
1 (2) Two hundred fifty dollars ($250) for any county of the 2 fourth class; 3 (3) Two hundred dollars ($200) for any county of the fifth 4 class; 5 (4) One hundred fifty dollars ($150) for any county of the 6 sixth class; 7 (5) One hundred dollars ($100) for any county of the seventh 8 class; or 9 (6) Fifty dollars ($50) for any county of the eight class 10 per annum. 11 * * * 12 Section 2. Section 446 of the act, added September 2, 1965 13 (P.L.482, No.244), is amended to read: 14 Section 446. Associations and Organizations Concerned with 15 Governmental Affairs.--The county commissioners of any county 16 may, by resolution, join associations and organizations 17 concerned with county or governmental affairs, other than the 18 Pennsylvania State Association of County Commissioners and the 19 Pennsylvania District Attorneys' Association, may pay dues to 20 such associations and organizations and may send delegates to 21 meetings or conventions of such associations and organizations 22 and pay the necessary expenses incident to their attendance at 23 such meetings or conventions. 24 The county commissioners of any county may by resolution 25 authorize any county official and his employes to attend 26 meetings of professional associations and organizations, or 27 study or training sessions for persons holding the same or 28 similar office or employment, and may pay all or any specified 29 portion of the necessary expenses incident to their attendance 30 at such meetings or sessions. 19750S0572B0603 - 2 -
1 Every person attending any convention, meeting or study or 2 training session referred to in this act shall submit to the 3 controller, or to the county commissioners in counties having no 4 controller, an itemized account of his expenses thereat, 5 including traveling expenses or mileage, which the county 6 commissioner may have agreed to pay. 7 Section 3.
