AN ACT
1 Amending the act of February 1, 1966 (1965 P.L.1656, No.581),
2 entitled "An act concerning boroughs, and revising, amending
3 and consolidating the law relating to boroughs," providing
4 for the mayor to appoint certain solicitors.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 1029, act of February 1, 1966 (1965
8 P.L.1656, No.581), known as "The Borough Code," is amended by
9 adding a clause to read:
10 Section 1029. Duties of Mayor.--It shall be the duty of the
11 mayor:

13 (4) to select a solicitor to advise the mayor and to
14 represent the mayor and police officers of the borough when they
15 appear as prosecution officers in proceeding before district
16 magistrates. Council shall have the power to disapprove any
17 solicitor so appointed by acting in the same manner as is
18 necessary to override a mayor's veto.
