AN ACT 1 Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled 2 "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth, 3 sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, revising, 4 consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto," 5 authorizing agreements with certain municipalities, under 6 certain conditions, for the promotion of the health and 7 welfare of certain citizens, and acceptance of money, 8 property and services. 9 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 10 hereby enacts as follows: 11 Section 1. Section 1999b, act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, 12 No.130), known as "The County Code," added July 29, 1965 13 (P.L.258, No.150), is amended to read: 14 Section 1999b. Federal Health and Welfare Programs.--Any 15 county may, through the commissioners, enter into agreements 16 with the Federal government, or with any city, borough, town, 17 township, nonprofit corporation or association located or 18 carrying on its functions within such county or serving the 19 residents of such county and which city, borough, town, 20 township, nonprofit corporation or association has or is about 21 to contract with the Federal government or with any agency of
1 State government whereby the Federal government will provide a 2 portion of the funds necessary, payable either to the county or 3 State government or directly to the city, borough, town, 4 township, nonprofit corporation or association for any program 5 not in conflict with an existing or hereafter established state 6 program offered by the Federal government for the promotion of 7 the health or welfare of its citizens, including the young, the 8 poor and the aged, and in the furtherance of said programs may 9 comply with conditions, rules or regulations attached by the 10 Federal [government] or State governments. 11 The county may accept gifts or grants of money, property or 12 services from any source, public or private, and may appropriate 13 such funds as may be necessary to carry out said programs. 14 Section 2.
