AN ACT
1 Amending the act of September 30, 1961 (P.L.1778, No.712),
2 entitled "An act requiring persons employed or engaged for
3 compensation to advocate the passage or defeat of legislation
4 to submit registration statements, and imposing a penalty,"
5 requiring lobbyists to make reports concerning their advocacy
6 of legislation.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of September 30, 1961 (P.L.1778, No.712),
10 known as the "Lobbying Registration Act," is amended by adding a
11 section to read:
12 Section 3.1. Reports by Lobbyists Required.--Each lobbyist
13 shall issue a bimonthly report listing each bill he or she has
14 advocated passage of, all amendments to bills he or she has
15 advocated passage of, all motions he or she has advocated
16 passage of, each bill he or she has advocated defeat of, all
17 amendments he or she has advocated defeat of, and all motions he
18 or she has advocated defeat of. The report shall be issued on or
1 before the first day of March, May, July, September, November
2 and January and shall cover all advocacy through the 15th day of
3 the preceding month. A copy of this report shall be distributed
4 to every member of the Legislature and each officially
5 recognized Capitol Hill reporter by the fifth day of the month
6 of issuance.
7 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
