AN ACT
1 Amending the act of July 25, 1961 (P.L.857, No.372), entitled
2 "An act regulating the manufacture of stuffed toys intended
3 for sale, gift, or use in Pennsylvania; providing for
4 registration of such manufacturers, the paying of a fee for
5 such registration, the issuance of a seal of approval to such
6 manufacturers; providing that material used in such toys
7 shall be new and free from dangerous or harmful substances;
8 providing for disinfection of such material containing
9 products of animal origin; and prescribing penalties,"
10 exempting nonprofit groups from payment of the registration
11 fee.
12 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
13 hereby enacts as follows:
14 Section 1. Section 3, act of July 25, 1961 (P.L.857,
15 No.372), entitled "An act regulating the manufacture of stuffed
16 toys intended for sale, gift, or use in Pennsylvania; providing
17 for registration of such manufacturers, the paying of a fee for
18 such registration, the issuance of a seal of approval to such
19 manufacturers; providing that material used in such toys shall
20 be new and free from dangerous or harmful substances; providing
21 for disinfection of such material containing products of animal
22 origin, and prescribing penalties. is amended to read:
1 Section 3. Manufactures of all stuffed toys manufactured in
2 this Commonwealth or intended for sale, gift, or use in this
3 Commonwealth shall register with the department on forms as
4 provided by the department. The forms shall set forth, among
5 other items, the name and address of the manufacturer, the type
6 of stuffed toys manufactured, the composition of the stuffing
7 and such other information as the department may require. A fee
8 of one hundred dollars ($100.00) shall accompany each
9 registration. This registration shall be valid for a period of
10 one (1) year and may be renewed, annually, by filling out of
11 such forms as shall be prescribed by the department, which form
12 shall be accompanied by payment of a fee of twenty-five ($25.00)
13 dollars. Every nonprofit group or organization shall be exempt
14 from payment of such registration fee or renewal fee.
15 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
